Most problems are one of the four below, and all four take under a minute. Try these before emailing — you will probably be watching sooner.
1. The remote stopped working
This is the most common issue, and it is not a fault. Some TV back panels contain metal shielding that blocks the Bluetooth signal between the remote and the device.
Fix: use the included HDMI extension cable. Plug the cable into the TV, then the device into the cable, so the device sits clear of the back panel. This resolves it in almost every case.
If the remote still does not respond, re-pair it: hold Home and Back together for 3 seconds. If the remote shows no sign of life at all, replace the batteries.
2. The device restarts on its own
Your TV's USB port may not supply enough current to run the device reliably.
Fix: plug the Type-C power cable into a standard USB wall adapter instead of the TV.
3. No signal on the TV
- Check the TV is on the correct HDMI input (HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and so on).
- Try a different HDMI port.
- Confirm the device is powered — look for the status light.
- Try a different HDMI cable.
4. Buffering or dropouts
- You need at least 25 Mbps download for 4K. Check yours at speedtest.net.
- Switch to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band if your router is nearby.
- On the ColaBox L2 Plus, plug in an Ethernet cable — the Gigabit port removes Wi-Fi from the equation entirely and fixes most buffering.
- Restart the router and the device.
Other fixes
An app crashes or freezes
Settings → Apps → [App name] → Clear Cache. If it continues, uninstall and reinstall it.
4K content is not playing in 4K
Confirm your TV supports 4K, that you are using a High Speed HDMI cable, and that your streaming plan includes 4K.
Factory reset (last resort)
Settings → Device Preferences → Reset → Factory Reset. This erases everything on the device.
