AV1 Decode — Why a Stick This Small Still Holds Up
Most streaming sticks in this price range top out at H.264 and H.265. The V1 Plus decodes AV1 in hardware, the newer codec that delivers the same picture at a noticeably lower bitrate. On a hotel connection, a rural line, or a home network with four people streaming at once, that is the difference between a clean picture and a spinning buffer icon.
Three Ways to Connect
Wall-mounted TVs and recessed HDMI ports are the usual obstacle with streaming sticks. The V1 Plus ships with an HDMI extension cable so it fits in tight spaces — plug it in directly, run it through the extension, or use a coupler for awkward angles.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a monthly subscription?
No. This is a one-time purchase with no monthly fee and no subscription. We do not keep your card on file.
Will it work in a hotel room?
Usually, but be aware of two things. Many hotel networks put you through a login page before granting internet access, which needs to be completed on the device. And some hotel TVs lock their HDMI inputs. Our travel guide above covers both in detail, including what to do when the input is locked. If your trip depends on it, read that first.
My TV's HDMI port is recessed behind a wall mount. Will it fit?
That is what the included HDMI extension cable is for. Plug the stick into the extension and the extension into the TV, and the stick hangs free instead of fighting the recess.
Can I power it from the TV instead of a wall socket?
In most cases yes, using the included Type-C cable into a USB port on the TV. Some older TVs supply less current from their USB ports than the stick wants, which shows up as random restarts. If that happens, use any standard USB wall adapter instead.
Can I watch without disturbing anyone?
Yes. It has Bluetooth 5, so you can pair headphones and watch a late match at full volume without waking the house.
How fast will it arrive?
We stock inventory in two US warehouses, in Georgia and California, and ship from whichever is closer to you. Orders leave the same or next business day and usually arrive within 3-5 business days anywhere in the continental US. Shipping is free. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii or PO boxes.
What if I do not like it?
You have 60 days from delivery to return it, with no restocking fee — double the window most of this category offers. There is also a 1-year hardware warranty, handled by us directly at support@colasticks.com.
